If you would like to help in any one of the following ministries please contact the church office (662) 453 - 2822.

Greenwood First offers a variety of opportunities for adults to connect with God and to others.

There are several Sunday school classes to chose from which begins at

9:45 am.

  • The Good News Class - is for both men and women of any age
  • The Open Door Class - is also for both men and women of any age
  • The Russell Class - is specifically for adult ladies

Also, we offer a men's breakfast group that meets in the Spring and Fall each year on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7 am.

The Circle 7 Women's Group also meets once a month during the Spring and Fall each year

Children and Youth

We strive to raise up the next generation on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

For parents of infants and toddlers, Greenwood First has a nursery available during Sunday morning worship.

During the Sunday school hour, classes are offered to both your children (K - 6th grade) and teens (7th - 12th grade).

On Wednesday nights at 5 pm, children and teen groups meet to learn about loving God and neighbor.

Also available are many more opportunities for your child to grow in the faith like trips to camps and day outings.

Senior Adults

The Senior Adult Ministry offers opportunities to the entire Greenwood and Leflore County community to fellowship together. SAMs are always traveling to interesting places and most importantly, you do not have to be a member of Greenwood First to come along. All one needs is to call the church office (662) 453-2822 to make your reservation.

Besides fellowship, we also minister to others confined to nursing home facilities in the area. First UMC puts on programs in local assisted living complexes with singing, devotions, stories, bible studies and communion services.
